Motivation comes and goes\u2014consistency is what carries you through.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"212\" data-end=\"252\">Here\u2019s how to actually make that happen:<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"254\" data-end=\"257\" \/>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"368ibp\" data-start=\"259\" data-end=\"287\">1. Lower the bar (a lot)<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"288\" data-end=\"361\">On tough days, don\u2019t aim for your <em data-start=\"322\" data-end=\"328\">best<\/em>\u2014aim for <em data-start=\"337\" data-end=\"360\">minimum viable effort<\/em>.<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"363\" data-end=\"439\">\n<li data-section-id=\"qiwilq\" data-start=\"363\" data-end=\"401\">Can\u2019t work out for 45 minutes? Do 5.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1ri350h\" data-start=\"402\" data-end=\"439\">Can\u2019t study 2 hours? Do 10 minutes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"441\" data-end=\"497\">This keeps the habit alive. Consistency beats intensity.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"499\" data-end=\"502\" \/>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"el8nwm\" data-start=\"504\" data-end=\"533\">2. Remove decision-making<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"534\" data-end=\"586\">The more choices you have, the easier it is to quit.<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"588\" data-end=\"706\">\n<li data-section-id=\"1cp3puw\" data-start=\"588\" data-end=\"647\">Decide <em data-start=\"597\" data-end=\"603\">when<\/em> and <em data-start=\"608\" data-end=\"615\">where<\/em> you\u2019ll do the task in advance<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1b4z533\" data-start=\"648\" data-end=\"706\">Example: \u201cI\u2019ll study at 7 PM at my desk, no matter what\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"708\" data-end=\"796\">When it\u2019s pre-decided, you\u2019re just following instructions\u2014not negotiating with yourself.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"798\" data-end=\"801\" \/>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"1r86a7q\" data-start=\"803\" data-end=\"835\">3. Use the \u201cjust start\u201d rule<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"836\" data-end=\"882\">Tell yourself: <em data-start=\"851\" data-end=\"882\">\u201cI\u2019ll do this for 2 minutes.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"884\" data-end=\"990\">Most of the time, starting is the hardest part. Once you begin, momentum kicks in and you continue longer.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"992\" data-end=\"995\" \/>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"1l4osp0\" data-start=\"997\" data-end=\"1025\">4. Accept imperfect days<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1026\" data-end=\"1095\">Some days will feel off. You\u2019ll be tired, distracted, or unmotivated.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1097\" data-end=\"1173\">Consistency doesn\u2019t mean perfect performance\u2014it means <strong data-start=\"1151\" data-end=\"1172\">showing up anyway<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"1175\" data-end=\"1178\" \/>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"p19eyh\" data-start=\"1180\" data-end=\"1218\">5. Track streaks (but don\u2019t worship them)<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1431\" data-end=\"1453\">Seeing progress helps:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1455\" data-end=\"1523\">\n<li data-section-id=\"cooycv\" data-start=\"1455\" data-end=\"1493\">Use a simple checklist or calendar<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"jhh0x7\" data-start=\"1494\" data-end=\"1523\">Mark each day you show up<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1525\" data-end=\"1607\">But if you miss a day, don\u2019t spiral. Remember your \u201cwhy\u201d<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1893\" data-end=\"1943\">When motivation drops, reconnect with your reason:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1945\" data-end=\"1993\">\n<li data-section-id=\"mn6pnf\" data-start=\"1945\" data-end=\"1965\">Why did you start?<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"109fkux\" data-start=\"1966\" data-end=\"1993\">What happens if you quit?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1995\" data-end=\"2079\">You don\u2019t need to feel motivated\u2014you just need a reason strong enough to act anyway.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"2081\" data-end=\"2084\" \/>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"6ioeei\" data-start=\"2086\" data-end=\"2100\">The truth:<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2101\" data-end=\"2210\">You won\u2019t always feel like it.
